Following on from her job at The Casino Carrie gets a job playing in the chorus at the Broadway Theatre, (Chapter XXXIX). From the chorus Carrie moves up to take the role of Katisha in "The Wives of Abdul" (a fictitious name). She gets paid $35 a week for playing this new role (Chapter XLII -XLIII). The show at the Broadway ends on May 5th 1895 and Carrie receives a silent part in a play at The Casino (Chapter XLIII).
